I want to bring Japanese technology back to my home country.

Mr. Hong, who came to Japan from Vietnam as a technical intern trainee, initially worked at a factory, but for one reason or another decided to pursue a career in the specific skill of “nursing care. Now in her seventh year in Japan, Ms. Hong answers interviews in very fluent Japanese.

What made you decide to work in Japan?

I first came to Japan as a technical intern to send money home and help my family in my home country of Vietnam

What kind of work do you currently do?

I work as a nursing assistant at a hospital in Aichi Prefecture. At first I was looking for a nursing job, but I realized that nursing assistants are the same in that they mainly take care of patients’ personal needs, so I wanted to help someone else.

What made you decide to work at your current place of employment?

Since I lived in Mie Prefecture, I had an interview at the hospital where I worked, and was pleasantly surprised to see how large and well-equipped the building was.I was very surprised at how large and well-equipped the building was. I decided that I really wanted to work at this hospital in order to learn about nursing.

How do you feel about actually working there?

I enjoy my job as a nursing assistant very much!It is easy to ask for help when I have problems with my job and I can talk to them right away and get help.I am also happy to talk a lot with the patients.

When did you start studying Japanese?

Before coming to Japan as a technical intern, I took Japanese language training at a sending agency in Vietnam and studied for five months.

What do you do on your days off?

I like to eat a lot and sleep a lot.On my days off, I eat good food and sleep all the time.Another of my hobbies is cosplaying and going to see cosplay shows.

What kind of career plans do you want to pursue in the future?

I would like to live in Japan for a long time, so I would like to change my status of residence to “nursing care” by obtaining a nursing care worker certificate.
